So, on my way to the Bowery Wall, I came across a small art park only a block or two away. Upon entering, there was a large sculpture. It was fairly interesting, but I didn’t shoot pics. I was already looking further down the pathway, towards the wall murals.
It was a Sunday, and Artists were busily working on the new creations. Some works sat, half-finished. Others were coming to life as I walked by, or seeing their finishing touches being applied. Here are some of the highlights from the art wall.
Each work had it’s merits, some were more or less down my artisitc alley (so to speak), but a couple of the works stole the show. One of those, “Twist”, will have its own post next week. (It’s a fabulously detailed work,)
The other was by Artist Vernon Peter and it’s called “Funky Jungle.” Peter was there finishing up his work while I watched. His movements were casual, but deliberate, as he chose just the right spot for his final touches. “Funky Jungle” added color, movement and flair to the mural wall. It was the last piece on the wall and the perfect ending to the artistic experience.
To all the artists that made this mural wall, Give Us Art! salutes you! (If you happen to know what little park I was in, please drop me a line so I can update the article.)
