The Unbelievable Work of Judith Schaechter!
This comes directly from my friend Alyson. (Yes, the actual one this time!) She’d told me about a woman who did incredible stained glass work. I’d forgotten the name and lost the scrap of paper I’d jotted down the info on. But after my call for help from my readers (apparently she actually reads this!) she hit me up with the info again. What I found when I got to Judith Schaechter‘s site, blew me away!
This is another instance where I’ll not bother waxing poetic. The work is incredible. The way she makes the work is incredible. View her greatness. Then, go to the link below that explains how she does it.
To learn how she can create such amazing work with stained glass go to her FAQ Page!
To see her gallery of older work (1984-2004) go here Older Work.
To see her gallery of newer work (2004-2010) go here Portfolio 2004-2010!
To see what she’s up to more frequently, go check out her blog Late Breaking Noose.
In all honesty, this is one of the coolest things I’ve seen in a long time. So Judith Schaechter, Give Us Art! salutes you! And I’d like to give a special thanks to Alyson (www.distractible-me.blogspot.com) for bringing this work to my attention!

Yeah, Schaechter does astonishing work, doesn’t she? If you have any concept of the effort required to create these works, then I strongly recommend that you go see a show of her work in person. I first saw her work at the Tacoma Museum of Glass, and it was as satisfying as a Tiffany show. I admit I’m not always into her artistic style, but her craftsmanship and dedication to details can hold me for hours.
