Illustration, Storyboards, Conceptual Design: Kidchuckle Does It All!
Vince Chui drives my “envy” rating right through the roof! He has the natural talent and skill I’ve always coveted. He also has the determination and work ethic needed to make in an industry that demands a lot. I guess that’s why I’m writing about his work, not the other way around.
Kidchuckle, as he’s known, spent 6 years creating illustrations and concept artwork for various entertainment businesses. He’s worked on video games like Full Auto (xbox 360), Full Auto 2: Battlelines (Playstation 3) and Cel Damage (Xbox, PS2). Since then he’s moved on to do work for other industry giants like Sega, Paramount Pictures, Marvel, etc. The names go on and on.
But his specialty, and favorite part of his job, is character design. While browsing his site you can see the desire to create something new. His character mock ups vary so widely you’d almost think there are ten of him. This shows the breadth of his imagination and creativity.
Lastly, is his versatility. It amazes me that he is so comfortable with so many mediums and so many styles. He works just as well in: inking, illustration, storyboards, building and environment work, graphic design and advertising art. Each of these is it’s own unique skill, and he is gifted at ALL of them. To me, this is an amazing feat. Most Artists take a lifetime to master a single form. Great Artists, like Kidchuckle, can master them all.
So Kidchuckle, for your amazing talent and killer work Give Us Art! salutes you!
